Well....we were missing three kiddos on Thursday due to illnesses. I am hoping everyone feels better this week!! This darn weather isn't helping anything! My allergies are acting up like crazy! :/ We continued to work on letter Pp...we read the book...Polar Bear, Polar Bear and painted a polar bear using a q-tip to follow the outline. Talk about some great fine motor practice!!
Kingston shared the yummiest sugar cookies with everyone. He ordered them himself from his Grandma Mary at The Mixing Bowl!! His mom said she didn't even know he did this!! Isn't that adorable??!! What an awesome Grandma!! ...she's a pretty good friend too! Check out these cute polar bears! The icing was to die for!! Yes.....I cheated and ate a cookie!! I might be skipping my weight watchers meeting this week!! LOL!
We read a cute book about a penguin who wanted to fly. We watched a video about real penguins and learned lots of interesting facts about them. We all agreed they were fun to watch. We practiced writing letter P and we made a cute penguin craft too.
We learned a new poem....Five Little Penguins and practiced counting penguins when we played a game during circle time.
Parker brought donuts to share for snack time. We thought they made a
PPPppperfect snack!! :) Thanks Parker!
Nice writing Evie!!
Holy Moly! We were FINALLY able to have our PJ Party!! I have about had it with this weather!! I am ready for Spring!! Our day was filled with fun activities to help us remember the letter Pp! We sang a song about popcorn and jumped up and down pretending to be popcorn, we played the sound guessing game, we made a book about Panda's pillows, we read the silliest book about a cat and all of his crazy pajamas, and we watched The Three Little Pigs. If they do not remember the letter Pp after this.....I give up!!! Ha!! It was a fun day and I was just happy to have my Little Bees back in school. I must admit I stayed in my Pjs the rest of the day!! :)
We read a nonfiction book about polar bears. The kids were very interested to see how and where polar bears live. We also watched a video about polar bears that showed how they hunt for their food and how they survive in the cold. We practiced using our fine motor skills when we painted our polar bears using q-tips to trace the outline. Check out how serious they were about staying on the lines!! Love seeing them work hard! They make me so proud! :)
Drake wanted to make sure we were clear on the sound letter Pp makes!! He brought us pretzels, pringles and poptarts. We had punch too! He even brought everyone pencils to take take home! Thanks Drake!
Today we read The Penguin who wanted to Fly. Penguin tried using some branches and flapping them really fast, he tried blowing up a balloon and hanging on tight to see if he could fly and he tried lots of other silly ideas too. Finally he learned to swim and thought that must be what flying feels like but under water. We also looked at some non-fiction books to learn some facts about penguins and to check out some really neat pictures. We learned a penguin counting poem and then Gabriella shared her "penguin" snack!! She brought ice cream sandwiches which are black and white just like penguins....she even wore the cutest black and white polka dot dress and told me she dressed like a penguin too!!! Gabriella brought penguin treat sacks for her friends filled with penguin food!! (goldfish crackers!) How fun is that??!! And finally.....we made a cute penguin of course!! :)
Learning about letter P was positively perfect!! I think the kids always have so much fun learning about letter P! They especially loved our Pajama Party day!! Everyone looked so cute in their PJs!! We popped popcorn and glued popcorn to the letter P. We learned a penguin poem and made a cute penguin craft. We read Polar Bear, Polar Bear by Bill Martin Jr. and painted a polar bear too. Even Kirby joined in on the fun at our pajama party!! Check him and Jansen out below!!
