Yikes!!  I am a little behind on my blog!!  I don't know why I am having a hard time keeping up lately!!
We read an Elmo book and did some exercising to help us learn about the letter Ee.  We made a cute Elmo project too.  Look how great my Little Bees are doing with their scissors!!  Woot!  Woot!

Karlea brought some really fun and yummy Elmo snacks to share!!  The kids were so excited when they saw the Strawberry Elmo!!  Isn't that the cutest??!!  Thanks Karlea!!

E is for Elephants too!!
We read a fun book about a colorful elephant named Elmer.  The story had a great lesson....Being different can be fun.  If we were all the same things would be a little boring.
We made our very own Elmer Elephants to bring home and we learned a silly poem about elephants too.

Another great snack!!  I am telling you.....I have the best mommies ever!!  They help make that letter/theme connection even during snack time!!  Thanks for the yummy elephant cookies Maddux!!  They were almost too cute to eat!!

Today we read a silly book about Elmer the Elephant and we learned a poem about elephants too! ......

Elephants are big!
Elephants are fat!
They have no fingers.
They have no toes.
But goodness, gracious,  What a nose!!

The students made an elephant project where they had to listen and follow directions.  That is something we are really trying to practice each and everyday!!  :)  We practiced writing our names and the letter Ee too.

Angela brought cute elephant sacks to share with everyone at snack time!!  They were filled with a drink and a package of cookies.  The elephants on the sacks were masks and the kids loved them!!  Thanks Angela!!!

We worked on letter Ee today and who better to help us with that than our cute furry red monster friend.....ELMO!!  We read an Elmo book and colored a picture of Elmo and practiced tracing letter E.  We talked about shapes and sang a shape song.  We also made an Elmo art project by cutting out different shapes.  Ask your child to identify the shapes on their project.  We had three students absent today. :(  Yes.....the sickness has already begun.  First time preschoolers unfortunately get sick quite often.  I try to keep the classroom as clean as possible but it is impossible to kill all of the germs.  Thank you for keeping your child at home until they are fever free for 24 hours.  We missed our friends today and hope to see them all back on Thursday.

Our Elmo projects turned out so cute!!  Our scissor skills are really improving!!  Thanks for practicing at home....I appreciate your help!! :)

When you ask your child what they do at preschool.....I am sure you often get....."I played."
We write, color, paint, cut, paste, sing, dance, count, read stories and the list goes on but of course we play too!!  That is a big part of preschool and a lot of learning goes on during playtime too!!  Emma played with blocks today and built towers using different shapes.  I heard Angela and Evie counting their dinosaurs and trains.  Kingston put puzzles together and played with Mr. Potato Head.  Grady was busy at the construction table and Jaycee and Sariah were busy helping their animal friends feel better at the pet vet center.  All of the students are learning how to cooperate, share and most of all how to be good friends at their centers.  I was a really proud teacher today watching them play so well together!! :)

They thought this was so funny.  We made a cute elephant project with a silly nose and practiced writing the letter E.  We talked about how we might see an elephant at the zoo or at a circus.  Isabella brought everyone a bag of popcorn. . . just like what you might eat at the circus!!  Good thinking!!  We played a counting game at circle time and practiced our color songs too.

Today we read Elmo's Guessing game of colors and played a color game at circle time.  We made a paper Elmo and practiced writing the letter Ee.  We watched Elmocize!!!  It is a video that teaches kids how to excercise. . . .with Elmo of course!!  They had so much fun!  We talked about healthy snacks and junk food and we ate apples and cereal at snack time.  Needless to say, I could certainly tell it was the day after Halloween!!  We were all a little groggy from our sugar overloads from the night before!!  I couldn't help but laugh when one of the students told me they had candy for breakfast!!
