J is for Jingle Bells!
J is for Jingle Bells!
This week we have been super excited about Christmas!! So to help us learn letter Jj we sang the song Jingle Bells. Below you can listen to the version that we sang at school. We also learned the SANTA song. I originally had planned on only doing this song in the Big Bee class but I played it for the Little Bees and they loved it!!! I couldn't believe how many of them remembered how to spell SANTA!!
Emily brought us Jingle Bell snowmen!! Aren't they cute??!! She even brought Jingle Bell milk to drink. I especially loved her little snowman outfit too!! We made Jingle Bell necklaces and discovered that the letter J looks like an upside down candy cane.
Gradyn was sick today but his mommy still brought us our snacks. Thanks Kim!! Hope you feel better soon Gradyn!! We liked your snowmen snacks and the gingerbread marshmallows too!!
We were really busy making our Santa project and our secret surprise for our families!! :) Check out Emilee with her Santa...
We all scream
for Ice Cream!!
Today we celebrated letter Ii by having an ice cream par-tay!!
Baylor brought all the fixins for ice cream sundaes!
They had fun making ice cream masterpieces!
We made ice cream paint using 1 part glue to 2 parts shaving cream. When it dries it almost looks like cotton candy!! We even added sprinkles (glitter) to our ice cream paintings!! Check them out!!
We read a book about an iguana who wanted to live in an igloo. We talked about igloos and what they are made of and what it might feel like to stay inside of one. We made an igloo and filled it with letter Ii pictures. We celebrated Jack's birthday and he brought igloo snacks made with chocolate nutella covered apples, a banana piece and marshmallows. Super cute! The kids loved them!! We love Jack's new big boy haircut too!
This week we read about our Action friend H the Horse who was stung by a hornet and huffed all the way to the hospital. Gabriella celebrated her birthday and brought horse cupcakes to share. We pretended to be horses at movement time and galloped around the room.
We also had fun learning the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty. Everyone helped build a wall of blocks for our Humpty to sit on. Yes....we used a real egg and made predictions of what might happen to the egg if it fell off of the wall.
Everyone thought it was funny when the egg cracked open! They wanted to make another Humpty and do it again!! We talked about how we could put Humpty back together again and they decided that it couldn't be done. Although I loved their ideas....tape, glue and a band-aid! We made a really cute Humpty Dumpty project to take home. Have your child recite the nursery rhyme for you!!
