We had a really fun Halloween Party today!!  We played games and read spooky stories.  We had some really fun treats and of course we loved trick or treating at our haunted house!  Tatum brought trick or treat bags for everyone!  Thank you ALL soooooo much for all of your help.  I appreciated all of the treats and supplies that everyone sent in for our special day.  Check out the cute snacks below!  The only thing that would have made our day better was if our friend Ella would have been with us!!  She was sick today. :(  But she sent in her super cool monster treats below.  Thank you Ella!!  We missed you!   Hope you feel better soon!

We read a story about Elmo the Elephant and learned a funny poem about elephants too....
Elephants are big.
Elephants are fat.
They have no fingers.
They have no toes.
But goodness gracious...
What a nose!!
We made an elephant craft and sang an elephant song.  Emillee brought elephant cookies and peanuts too!!  She even brought a gallon of milk all decked out to look like an elephant!  It was super cute!!  Check the pics out below!!

We had a dog-gone good time learning about the letter Dd.  We read If you give a Dog a Donut and played a counting game where we counted dog bones and put the correct number in a dog bowl.  We made a really cute dog craft and Gabriella brought the cutest dog treats ever!!  Check out those cute cookies and the dog juice boxes!!  She brought Scooby Doo Dog bones too!  Kirby thought they were his dog bones so we gave him one and put him in the garage so he wouldn't try to steal everyone's snacks!!  Of course I had to include him in our photos of the day!! We finished our day up by doing our handwriting paper.  I am seeing lots of improvement on fine motor skills!!

We had fun talking about Clowns today.  We talked about the silly things they do to make people laugh.  We read a story about a clown and reviewed our shapes.  Then we used different shapes to make our very own clowns.  They turned out super cute.  We played a counting game and we played pin the nose on the clown too.  Drake brought circus cookies for snacks and I gave everyone a clown nose for being a Busy Bee!  Our days seem to go by so fast I can't get everything I plan completed!!  Oh well, I guess they had fun and most of them are mastering the letter C and it's sound!! :)  Have a great weekend.  See you back on Tuesday!

We read about our new Action Alphabet friend....C the Caterpillar who cuts through leaves as he crunches.  To help us remember the sound letter C makes we hold out our fingers like scissors and pretend to cut as we say "c, c, c".  I can't believe how well the students are remembering the actions!!  We also read The Very Hungry Caterpillar...a story about a little caterpillar who eats so much food all week long he gets a tummy ache.  He eats so much he is no longer a little caterpillar but rather a big fat caterpillar.  He makes himself a cocoon and rests for 2 weeks and then surprise....he turns into a beautiful butterfly.  We worked on our handwriting and we made cute caterpillars by cutting circles.  Ella brought the cutest snacks to go with our story.  She brought grapes that looked like the very hungry caterpillar and then she brought some different foods that he ate in the story.  I loved that the food had holes in them that looked like the caterpillar munched right through!!  The kids thought that was so fun!  I have the best parents!!
Thank you Ella for bringing such a ccccute snack!!! :)

Thank you so much for sending in all of the fun band-aids for our Boo Boo Bear project.  The kids loved it!!  And I loved watching them work on their fine motor skills!!  Band aids are hard to open and manipulate and they did awesome!!  We reviewed our Action Alphabet and read a new book Bubble Bear.  It was a story about a bully.....so we talked about how to treat our friends.  We also practiced writing the letter Bb and we did some counting at circle time too.  Ayden brought Bear Cookies on a stick, Blue juice and Bear straws to help us learn about letter Bb!!  They were "beary" cute!! :)  Thanks Ayden!  Finally, we practiced reading our Bee Books so we could read them to everyone at home.  Please listen to your child read their book.  You will be pretty proud....I know I am!!  Have a great weekend!   Be sure to check the Halloween Sign-up sheet on Tuesday.  Again, thank you so much for all that you do for our classroom!  I could not do this without you!!

Today we read a Blue Likes Shapes and sang our shape song.  We talked about the sound that letter Bb makes and practiced tracing the letter B too.  We made some Blues Clues ears and watched a Blues Clues video while we enjoyed Tatum's Blues Clues puppy chow snack!!  What a great idea Tatum!  We finished up a Busy Bee book we have been working on that reinforces colors.  We will practice reading it again on Thursday before sending it home.  Just a reminder....Please practice using scissors at home with your child.  We will start using scissors almost everyday and some of the students are having a really hard time.  Of course, I will be helping them at school but if they get extra practice at home they will just be that much better!! :)  Thank you for your help!!  I just do not like to see them get so discouraged.  I keep telling them that it will get easier.
