Check out all of the Easter goodies Gabriella brought!! Bunny cheese, bunny crackers and peeps sitting on iced rice krispy treats with my all time favorite candy...mini cadbury eggs!!! It's a good thing they do not sell those all year long!
Gabriella also brought take home treats for everyone...cute little carrots aka cheetos! I love her little polka dot dress! Adorable!
We read a book about a magic umbrella and learned the song Rain, Rain Go Away! We made an umbrella craft and played a game where we counted raindrops. We talked about why someone might use an umbrella and of course everyone agreed we use them to keep us dry from the rain but when they saw Tatum's snack we discussed how an umbrella can provide shade and protect us from the sun. Thanks for the cute snacks Tatum!!
Today we read both nonfiction and fiction books about Tigers. We practiced writing letter Tt and we made a really cute tiger craft. We practiced counting to 20 and we sang a new counting song too. We watched Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and enjoyed Baylor's Terrific Tiger snacks! (mandarin orange jello....how creative is that??!!) She also brought treat snacks filled with "T" things....twizzlers, tootsie rolls, and twix bars. Thanks Baylor!
Check out Drake's cute Tiger....
And all of us that were sporting Tiger clothing too!
This is ONE of the MANY reasons I love my preschool kids....Today I was reading a story about a silly turtle and we talked about different words that start with letter Tt. We talked about how to make a letter T and then my little Ella said "Me and my sister can make a letter T with our bodies!" So I had her and Baylor demonstrate!! Pretty good, huh??!! Then all of the kids wanted to try making letter T and we talked about other letters that we could make with our bodies. Unplanned teachable moments are the best!
Ayden brought turtle cupcakes to share...they were so cute and yummy too! He even brought turtle food to share too!! (gummy worms!) I have some pretty creative mommies, huh?! Thanks for making learning letters so much fun!
St. Patrick's Day is always so much fun! It never fails we always have a sneaky leprechaun visit our classroom and this year was no exception!! We found a note from a leprechaun and we followed clues hoping to find some of his gold. Although we didn't find any gold we did find a pot of treasure underneath a rainbow.....Leprechaun Books, St. Patrick's Day stickers and Lucky Charms of course!! :)
Check out our Shamrock headbands!! Something green to wear on St. Patty's Day! :)
Emilee brought green leprechaun juice and little leprechaun hats for snack today! Aren't they cute??! She also brought treat bags to pass out....check them out! What a nice friend!! I just love her green shirt too! :)
And of course we made our very own lucky leprechauns to take home! They just loved making his curly beard!
Today we read about our Alphabet friend....Silly Snake who likes to sing about things that start with letter Ss! We also read a little book about another snake....Sally who loves shapes. We sang a song about shapes and we practiced tracing shapes. We also played shape bingo. We started making a shape book to read at home but we need a little more time to finish it.
Gradyn brought Silly Snakes for snacks....(gummy worms) and other "S" treats too....skittles and starburst. He brought straws to go in our drinks too!
I am seriously ready for some SSSSSpring weather because the kids are a little crazy!!! They have something called Spring Fever!!! I think I have an extreme case of it myself!! ;)
Today we read a really cute book called What Makes a Rainbow? The children learned that it takes rain, sunshine and lots of colors to make a rainbow.
We made rainbows by using our crayons and recalling all of the colors that we read about in our story. Then we had fun gluing colorful cereal to our rainbows. They had fun sorting the cereal but I think they probably enjoyed eating it even more!
Jack brought some colorful rainbow snacks too!! Fruit Kabobs!! Aren't they pretty??!! A few students tasted blueberries for the first time and loved them so be sure to ask them if they tried something new today.
Ella had fun making rainbows with our stacking game and we had to take a picture of Gabriella because we thought she looked like a rainbow today!!
We did a circle time activity where we made Rainbow Soup! They thought this was pretty fun. I am posting the words because this would be an easy activity to do at home too.
Holy Moly! We were FINALLY able to have our PJ Party!! I have about had it with this weather!! I am ready for Spring!! Our day was filled with fun activities to help us remember the letter Pp! We sang a song about popcorn and jumped up and down pretending to be popcorn, we played the sound guessing game, we made a book about Panda's pillows, we read the silliest book about a cat and all of his crazy pajamas, and we watched The Three Little Pigs. If they do not remember the letter Pp after this.....I give up!!! Ha!! It was a fun day and I was just happy to have my Little Bees back in school. I must admit I stayed in my Pjs the rest of the day!! :)
