Today we read Miss Spider's Tea Party. It is a cute story about a lonely spider who invites lots of bugs to her tea party but they are just too afraid of a spider to join her for tea. But when the bugs find themselves in trouble Miss Spider comes to their rescue. The bugs soon found that Miss Spider really was a nice bug too!! They came to her party and they were all friends. We talked about being friends with everyone even when they seem different. We are all special and different in our own way!
Izzy brought cute little teapots for our snacks today. She filled them with M&Ms, crackers and a teapot lollipop. She brought Sunrise drinks and everyone found the letter S!! She even brought us a craft to work on. . . a cute teapot picture frame.
Everyone enjoyed working on the teapot craft!!
When we came to preschool today we had a couple of St. Patrick's Day books sitting on my chair. We noticed that a couple of our toys had been moved around and there was green glitter everywhere. We read our books and then we found something special at the end of our
story. . . .
It was a clue that the little leprechauns had left us!!
We followed all of the Shamrock clues that led us all over the house.................and finally!!! We found the treasure! Mr. Leprechaun left us a pot of treats.
Ava brought a really cute St. Patrick's Day treat for us to eat. A licorice rainbow with a marshmallow cloud and gold candy at the end!!
We played games like Skittle Bingo and Count the Shamrocks and we practiced finding the letter S on lots of Shamrocks. We had a really fun day!
On Tuesday we read our Alphatale Story. . . . Silly Snake. Silly Snake sings about things that start with letter S. It is a cute song and the kids love to sing it because we hold our noses when we sing about stinky socks!! We made a silly snake and we practiced writing our letter S. This is one of the trickiest letters to write. A few of them were getting frustrated but we remembered as long as we are trying and doing our best. . . . that is all that matters!!! We sang our "I think I can!" song and then someone said. . . Well, that song really DOES work. . . now I can make a letter S!! Dontcha love em!!?? Jansen brought SSSSunny D and Scrabble Cheez-its! They had fun searching for all of the letters in their names and of course the letter S!
To help us learn about letter Rr we read a funny story about a dog who went up in space in a red rocket. Then we practiced writing our letters on the dry erase boards. We made a rocket in outer space and learned a rocket poem too. On Rainbow day we read a story about what makes a rainbow. Ask your child what it takes to make a rainbow. We made rainbows using fruit loops! They had to match the correct color cereal on the rainbow and it helped them to work on their fine motor skills. . . . not to mention it was just plain fun!! Kirby had an especially great day eating all of the fruit loops on the floor!!
We read The Cat in the Hat to celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday. We colored a picture of the cat and finished working on the letter Q. Jackson has the same Birthday as Dr. Seuss so he brought a really cute Cookie Cake with the cat's famous hat! It was a huge hit!! We will be reading Dr. Seuss books all month long.
Today we read about Quilla the Queen who was an awful mean queen and she liked to quarrel and get in a fight!! She met a wizard who turned her into a duck and all she could do was QQQQuack!! The kids thought this story was so funny and they learned a new word in the process. It was funny because when we were playing I heard someone say. . . don't quartol! It is not nice to fight!! I love preschoolers!! We made Letter Q queens and for snack Brooklyn made quessadillas!!! We had QQQuite a wonderful day!
Learning about letter P was positively perfect!! I think the kids always have so much fun learning about letter P! They especially loved our Pajama Party day!! Everyone looked so cute in their PJs!! We popped popcorn and glued popcorn to the letter P. We learned a penguin poem and made a cute penguin craft. We read Polar Bear, Polar Bear by Bill Martin Jr. and painted a polar bear too. Even Kirby joined in on the fun at our pajama party!! Check him and Jansen out below!!
