We LLLLLoved learning about letter L!! This week we read about ladybugs and learned that they can be different colors. We made ladybug puppets and learned a song to sing about ladybugs too! Brooklyn brought ladybug snacks for us to eat using apples, peanut butter, raisins and grapes. . . yummy and healthy!! We practiced writing the letter Ll and we practiced counting ladybug spots during our math time. This week we also sang Mary had a Little Lamb and watched a video. Some of them didn't know the other versus about Mary's lamb following her to school. They thought this was pretty silly. We made lambs and talked about their white fleece. We glued cotton balls onto our lambs and practiced writing the letter L. . We are always playing review games at circle time too. This week we reviewed our shapes and played a matching game.
This week we read Kangaroo Kazoo and worked on our handwriting skills. We played a Kangaroo game too!! I showed the students some picture cards and if they picture started with the /k/sound they had to hop up and down like a Kangaroo!! Then they had to put the picture in the kangaroo's pocket. They thought this was so much fun we had to play it again!! We talked about kings and made crowns to wear. We pretended to be Counting Kings. . . . we counted lots and lots of different things in our classroom!! We practiced writing our names and numbers too. Izzy Miles brought King cupcakes for us to eat at snacktime and Isabella brought Rice Krispy treats to eat! We had fun learning about letter Kk! We also finished our snowmen to hang in our classroom.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with your families. I was very proud of all of your children. They did a good job coming back to school after such a long break. I know I was ready to get back into a routine!! We talked about winter and read The Biggest Snowman Ever. We made the cutest snowmen to hang in our classroom. We did some counting activities and we celebrated Anna's Birthday!! She brought cute mitten cookies for everyone!!
