This week we talked a lot about the New Year and characteristics of Winter. We talked about snow and of course all of the fun things you can do in the snow. On Wednesday we read Snowmen at Night. . . a really cute book about snowmen playing baseball, sledding, ice skating and drinking ice cold cocoa when we are sleeping. We thought that was pretty funny. We made our very own snowmen to hang in our classroom. We also made snowmen out of donuts for our snacks!! Today we read The Little Snowflake a story about a cute little snowflake who wanted to be a part of the biggest and best snowman in the world. We also read The Snowy Day an excellent book with wonderful watercolor pictures inside. We used watercolors and painted some really neat snowflakes for our classroom. It is going to look like a Winter Wonderland in here!! I just keep crossing my fingers that we will continue to have a mild winter. I can definitely live without any snow!!! But don't tell your kids I said that!! :) Today we celebrated Nick's 5th Birthday. He brought Soccer cupcakes and treats for everyone too. Thanks Nick and have a fun party this weekend. Enjoy the pictures below. There are a few that I took before Christmas Break.
