You a Question......
Will you be
Two parties in a row. . . . I think I need a nap today!! It is always fun to see how excited the kids are to pass out their Valentine cards and goodies! I was so proud of their manners and kindness towards one another today. As always, they were so proud of their boxes and bags that they made at home. Thank you so much for all of your help!! I appreciate all that you do!!
Jase and his mommy made heart shaped pizza for snack today. . . it was a hit!! They ate every piece! We also had cookies and cake and because we had a snowday on Monday we had cupcakes from Annaliese too!! Yes. . . . lots of sugar but I just let them choose two. I didn't want to send anyone home with a tummy ache!!
We read lots of books about owls today and learned what owls eat and where they live. We made owls out of the letter O and we practiced writing a sentence. We have been talking about how you must leave a space in between words and how a sentence ends with a period. Yes. . . I know. . . we have come a long way!! I am so proud of my kiddos!! I have some pretty good writers!! Get ready Kindergarten teachers!! Check out the Owl snacks that Nick brought to share with the class. It was funny. . . we had a lot of hooting going on during our snack time.
On Friday we finished up talking about letter Oo and did some fun Valentine activities. Keegan brought letter Os to eat for snack. . . donuts with Valentine sprinkles!!
Today we read Olive the Octopus, a story about an Octopus who lived in the ocean and dreamed of being an Outstanding juggler. She likes to juggle things that begin with the letter O. She juggled an onion, an owl in an oak tree, a pair of old overalls, an orange alien and an entire orchestra!! Ask your child to tell you what happened to Olive after she juggled all of those things. We made Olive with her eight tentacles and put letter o's all over her!! We practiced writing letter O and we went to our Buddy Stations to work on being independent. They were OOOOOutstanding!! Rylee brought Ooooodles and Oooodles of letter O snacks!! She brought marshmallow Octopus and Octopops too!! She even brought oranges for everyone. Check out her O snacks below!!
We did lots of counting and working with NNNNumbers!! Alex even brought Number cupcakes to share. When he passed them out his friends had to tell him what number they had on their cupcake. We worked in our Buddy Stations too. I am so proud of how independent your children are becoming. I am hoping to finish up my testing soon!! It always takes longer than expected.
We read the book The Napping House. It is a story about a rainy day that makes everyone want to take a nap. They all lay on the bed together until a flea bites the mouse that wakes the cat that wakes the dog that wakes the boy that wakes the granny!! It was a silly story. I think everyone enjoyed the project because they had to remember the order of the characters to glue inside of their very own napping house. Raelee brought NNNNutter Butter cookies for snack. NNNNice thinking!!
