They looked very handsome. We sang Happy Birthday to Jase and he brought a super cool Birthday cake and ice cream treats too! Check out the cake below. It is a Necktie!!! Thanks for helping make our letter Nn day really NNNNnnnnice!
Another week. . . . another letter!! It seems like time is flying right by!! I can't seem to catch up!! I keep saying I am going to test, I am going to test but I am so busy with the kids when they are here I can't get it done!! Next week I am going to SLOW down and get it done!! We just had too many fun things to do for letter Mm!! We read my all time favorite Monster book. . . . Go Away Big Green Monster and made our own green monsters to take home to retell the story. They thought this was really fun!! I hope they told you all about our Monster story!! To make it even more exciting, Brady brought us MMMMarvelous green Monster cupcakes for snack! Yes that "cake" below is really a dozen cupcakes iced- - - pretty clever, huh?!
We read Five Little Monkeys and made our own version to take home to help us practice counting forwards and BACKWARDS!! We have been practicing counting by Fives and Tens too!! We practiced our handwriting and Keegan brought monkey cupcakes for everyone to enjoy!! MMMmmm!!
On Marshmallow day we did lots of counting and number practice. I think we probably ate more marshmallows than we could count!! Annaliese brought M&M cookies to share and we listened to Music. We had a Mmmmmmarvelous week!!
To help us learn about letter Ll we read Leo the Loveable Lion and made really cute lions out of hearts. . . . just in time to get us ready for Valentine's Day too! Cole brought super cool lion cookies to eat for our snacks and lemon lime soda. . . .Everybody LLLLLoved it!! We read about another lion named Larry who loved lemonade and lollipops. You guessed it. . . we made our very own lollipops using jolly ranchers. Each child chose 5 jolly ranchers to make a lollipop. Some of them made all different flavors and some of them chose one flavor. They unwrapped their candies and put them in a foil cupcake liner. I added the sticks and then we put them in the oven to melt. We decided that we needed to make two lollipops!! One to eat during preschool and one to take home!! We practiced writing the letter Ll and we have been doing lots of counting activities and number writing practice too. Brianna brought lollpop cookies to eat and they were so adorable! I just appreciate everyone's creativity and the time and effort you all put into making our days here at Busy Bee Preschool even more special!! Thank you!!!
This week we had fun learning about letter Kk! We read about some silly kangaroos that played their kazoos for the king. . . .we learned how to play the kazoo too!! Everyone has their own kazoo to keep at school so we can learn new songs from time to time. Today we learned You are my Sunshine!! I know you love me for not sending it home!! But they will get to take it at the end of the year!! We also played a listening game. . . when the students heard the /k/ sound they had to hop like kangaroos. They were hopping all day long! On Wednesday we made kites and boy were we lucky!! The weather was beautiful and we were able to go outside to play with them!! We practiced writing letter K and our numerals 1 - 5. We also did some testing and reviewed all of our sounds. We had some awesome letter K snacks this week too. Rylee brought all kinds of fruit to make kabobs. She also brought Kool-Aid and Dunkaroos too. Raelee brought kite snacks and Keegan brought Krunch bars! Thanks everyone for your creativity!! Reminder.. ... .. No School on Monday. I will see you all on Wednesday, January 18th! Have a good weekend!
This week we talked a lot about the New Year and characteristics of Winter. We talked about snow and of course all of the fun things you can do in the snow. On Wednesday we read Snowmen at Night. . . a really cute book about snowmen playing baseball, sledding, ice skating and drinking ice cold cocoa when we are sleeping. We thought that was pretty funny. We made our very own snowmen to hang in our classroom. We also made snowmen out of donuts for our snacks!! Today we read The Little Snowflake a story about a cute little snowflake who wanted to be a part of the biggest and best snowman in the world. We also read The Snowy Day an excellent book with wonderful watercolor pictures inside. We used watercolors and painted some really neat snowflakes for our classroom. It is going to look like a Winter Wonderland in here!! I just keep crossing my fingers that we will continue to have a mild winter. I can definitely live without any snow!!! But don't tell your kids I said that!! :) Today we celebrated Nick's 5th Birthday. He brought Soccer cupcakes and treats for everyone too. Thanks Nick and have a fun party this weekend. Enjoy the pictures below. There are a few that I took before Christmas Break.
